BJJ Escapes - Top Reason Why They Are So Important in Brazilian Jiujitsu

When I had the Brazilian jiujitsu and grappling many years ago, was due to mixed martial arts. Like many others, I stood up and saw the value of Striker tournament grappling with the former UFC will look like in 1993. Then the comments are all the rage and I remember that when people began to teach the subject in many schools of martial arts in wrestling. This began my wrestling training, and although it took a minute before jiujitsu instructors authorized started popping up everywhere, taught me an important lesson.

Which brings me to a concept that is very difficult for most beginners to get. Not that it really complicated, it's really very simple, but because it is contrary to the simple strategy that most novices think of BJJ is all about. 'Grappling is planning to present your opponent' strategy. Most people who begin to teach jiujitsu quickly that location is everything. This is very important, but the value of exit is sometimes overlooked. Most beginners still stick to the way of thinking. But some of the most important skills anyone can develop in Brazilian jiujitsu began their escape.

This is particularly true for MMA and BJJ training. When I started thinking of my BJJ strategy game, I did the same thing to do, I thought how I can make my opponents submitted as quickly as possible. This became the focus of my training. And so I had to learn the hard way that the development of solid BJJ game involves a lot more resources and implementation. These involving control the position and, more important is to escape from poor posture and find a vantage point.

But I was wrong.

Something was missing when I would try to flee from a bad position. Several times, my opponents would be able to higher cause and block my escape and then submitted me. You see, even if I knew how important it was and developed my escape, there was always something missing.

Then I looked at the others who escaped with care. Seeing them I quickly realized that not only the importance of being able to escape, but also to escape bad positions effectively you must focus on more than 2 different escapes, drill them continuously, and work to link and combine escapes and out think the opponents moves. The same approach can be applied to game presentation. Although mastering escapes should be high on your list of priorities to present and control configuration.

The reason is simple. If your opponents can out position you then no matter what, your whole game plan will be useless or does not come into play. Look carefully at the end the number of fights as a fighter gets stuck in one position and is stopped either by strikes or subjected. You will quickly understand the importance of role-playing releases of mixed martial arts.
