How to Improve Your Armbar Technique

There are a lot of way to improve your armbar technique. I write this post to help any one who want to perfecting this technique.

Someday, after we training at our dojo, my friend asked me how to improve his armbar technique. This technique is usually has high percentage to submit your opponent. The one got in my mind that day to told my friend to practice the armbar technique more than usual. It means if you want to get this submission automatic implemented in your sparring session, you have to practice the armbar a thousand a day.

I know you guys will think, "Whats the point since I already know the steps of the armbar and can apply it in sparring."

But it will train your body to memorize the technique, and when you're exhausted your body will react automatically to the most technique you have been practicing a lot. Yes, it was really boring to do. But you will see the result between 1 - 2 weeks after you do the practice.

You will began to see the difference in sparring. My experience, when i sparred i could clearly see the chance for an armbar in every positions. My mind and body just reacted to the openings. I can easily see the openings for an armbar and instinctively move smoothly on top(or bottom) of my opponent and get that armbar tight. And even when I was exhausted my body just move and did the setup for an armbar.

This method can be apply to other techniques that you want to improve. Just do the technique a thousand a day.
